Attribution settings

myTracker attribution settings can be configured either for the entire project or for tracking links used in individual marketing campaigns. You can turn on/off some attribution methods and change the attribution window separately for post click and post view conversion for mobile and web platforms.

For Google Ads and Apple Search Ads campaigns, attribution can be configured only at the project level. This is because these partners’ campaigns and tracking links are generated automatically and are not editable.

PROJECT SETTINGS

Default project-level settings apply to all apps, i. e. to all tracking links within the project. Settings can be selected when a project is created and edited at any later time.

  1. In the project list, create a new project by the Add button or edit your project with the button.
  2. Press the Attribution settings button and specify your parameters.

By default project settings will apply to all newly created tracking links. If you want to update parameters of existing links, you need to replace them with new links. Exception: links in Google Ads and DoubleClick campaigns may be configured only at the project level.

For more details on projects, refer to Project

TRACKING LINK SETTINGS

Individual tracking link attribution settings override project-level settings but apply to a single tracking link only. Settings can only be selected when a tracking link is created.

  1. In the campaign list, select the one you need.
  2. On the Tracking libk tab press the Add button.
  3. Fill out the form and set your parameters by the Attribution settings button.

Once a tracking link is created, its attribution window cannot be resized. Its settings are not accessible at the link level, and are not modified when project-level settings are edited. However, you can always add another link with a different configuration for post click and post view conversions.

For more details on tracking links, refer to Tracking links.

Default attribution settings are listed below. Options differ at the project level and the tracking links for mobile and web platforms.

Mobile attribution window

Mobile attribution window is setting for mobile applications. This is a time interval preceding an install during which click or view attribution is permitted.

If the click is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of installation.

The setting is available separately for post click and post view conversions and applies to all mobile attribution methods except Fingerprint.

Fingerprint attribution window (on/off)

Fingerprint attribution window defines the mobile attribution window for the Fingerprint method. In addition to configuring the attribution window, you can also turn on/off the method itself at the individual tracking link level.

The default setting for Fingerprint may be either ON or OFF, depending on administrative settings used by your marketing partner

Web attribution window

Web attribution window is setting for web applications. This is a time interval preceding an first site visit during which click or view attribution is permitted.

If the click is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of visitor.

The setting is available separately for post click and post view conversions and applies only to the web attribution by cookies.

Unlike mobile devices where a user can pass some time before installing the application, on the web platform a visitor almost immediately goes to the project site.

Therefore only the cookie attribution window is available for setting. For Direct link there is no web attribution window, and for the Redirect an uneditable window is set to 10 minutes.

Post view (on/off)

The Post view settings block allows you to control a view-through attribution. By default, myTracker supports a click-through and view-through attribution. But you can turn off the Post view option and track only conversion on the click.

You can disable Post view for the entire project or individual tracking links.

DOOH window

DOOH window is setting for the attribution of digital out-of-home advertising. This is a time interval preceding an install during which view attribution is permitted.

If the view is detected outside this interval, it's not assumed to the source of installation.

For more details about DOOH ads, refer to DOOH tracking
